On May 26, 2026, specialists from Chemical House & Lab Instrument were honored to participate as guest lecturers in the topic “Techniques for Measuring Flow Behavior and Deformation of Materials” as part of the Advanced Analytical Characterization Training Program organized by the Science and Technology Research Institute (STRI), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB).
The program was designed to enhance knowledge and practical skills in material characterization for students, researchers, and industry professionals, with a focus on applying advanced analytical instruments to investigate material properties for research and product development applications.
Analyzing Flow Behavior and Material Deformation through Rheology
Rheology is the science that studies the flow behavior and deformation behavior of materials under applied forces. It plays a critical role in a wide range of research and industrial applications, including polymers, plastics, asphalt, resins, adhesives, coatings, cosmetics, food products, and various chemical materials.
A thorough understanding of rheological properties enables researchers and manufacturers to optimize formulations, improve processing conditions, and enhance product quality and performance.
During the training session, the Chemical House team provided both theoretical and hands-on instruction using advanced rheological characterization instruments, including the Capillary Rheometer Rosand RH2000 and the Kinexus Rotational Rheometer.
Capillary Rheometer Rosand RH2000 for Research, Product Development, and Quality Control
The Rosand RH2000 is a capillary rheometer specifically designed for research, product development, and quality control applications. It offers exceptional testing flexibility and comprehensive flow property characterization for a wide range of materials.
Despite its compact footprint, the instrument supports a broad range of testing capabilities, making it suitable for virtually all capillary rheometry requirements in modern laboratories. The system is available in both single-bore and dual-bore configurations.
The Rosand RH2000 features a high-precision digital drive system that provides accurate speed control and reliable test performance. It supports loads up to 12 kN, upgradeable to 20 kN, and testing temperatures up to 400°C, with an optional upgrade to 500°C.
The instrument is also equipped with Flowmaster software, enabling researchers to design experiments, collect data, and perform comprehensive rheological analyses efficiently.
Kinexus Rotational Rheometer for Advanced Rheological Characterization
The Kinexus Rotational Rheometer is an internationally recognized rheological analysis platform designed to evaluate the flow and deformation behavior of materials under a variety of conditions.
The system supports characterization of a broad range of materials, including polymers, asphalt, bitumen, resins, adhesives, coatings, and other engineering materials. It can simulate and analyze material behavior using various rheological models, helping users better understand performance under real-world processing and application conditions.
Kinexus can be applied to research and development, quality control, and process optimization activities such as mixing, injection molding, spray coating, compression molding, and material compaction.
Another key advantage is its support for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and an extensive library of testing protocols. The instrument also complies with internationally recognized testing standards, including AASHTO, ASTM, and EN, providing confidence in test accuracy and data reliability.
Supporting Research and Industrial Development through Advanced Analytical Technologies
Participation in this training program reflects Chemical House & Lab Instrument’s commitment to supporting the development of scientific research, technological innovation, and industrial advancement in Thailand through the sharing of expertise in advanced analytical instrumentation and practical application methodologies.
Chemical House & Lab Instrument would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Science and Technology Research Institute (STRI), King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), for the opportunity to contribute as guest lecturers and share our expertise during this training program.
